Quaresima in musica - Festival in Gorizia (Italy)

Zbor Svetega Nikolaja participated at the "Quaresima in musica" festival in Gorizia (Italy) on 12th March 2005. In the cathedral it presented to the audience a rich repertoire of spiritual music. The festival is organized every year on fast-day by the local choir "Coro Polifonico di Ruda". Although usually only Italian choirs participate, they have this time invited a foreign choir – from Slovenia.

The italian audience was in awe when listening to such musical creativity and superbly performed pieces by the choir. The applauses, standing ovations and post-concert comments revealed a deep respect of the work of the choir and its conductor Helena Fojkar Zupančič. Everybody was unanimous in their opinion that the concert was extraordinary and filled with emotions. Zbor Sv. Nikolaja clearly demonstrated they invest their soul into the music-pieces.



The cooperation with the Italian choir has been very successful and gave birth to many new ideas. One of them was the meeting of three choirs from Austria, Italy and Slovenia and a concert-tour in all of these countries.
