Swedish choir in Litija

On 4th May 2007, Litija was honoured with a concert by the renown swedish choir Stockholms Musikgymnasium Choir, which was then on a tour of Slovenia, led by the esteemed conductor Bengt Ollen. Choir's concert program consisted mostly of pieces by contemporary swedish composers. The choir, since its foundation in 1959, has played an important role in the musical life of Stockholm. It frequently collaborates with swedish musical publishing houses and the Swedish Radio. It has received numerous awards at national and international choir competitions and performs on a regular basis in Sweden as well as abroad.

Bengt Ollen has been a renowned choir conductor since 1992. He obtained his musical education at the Göteburg's Musical Academy and at the Stockholm Music Institute. From 1993 he has been conducting the "Sofia Vokalensemble Stockholm" choir, which he founded himself.

"The experience has been incredible", said the listeners, "with such beautiful singing, no one could stay equanimous"! After the concert, the singers of St. Nicholas choir met with our swedish colleagues and chatted a bit and swapped impressions and experiences of singing in a choir.
